NovaBigSteppa | “Missed Calls”
NovaBigSteppa curves those who try pursuing her in “Missed Calls.” For her heart’s been stolen by a woman whose “love is a 1 of 1.” She further expresses her devotion by lyrically tackling an Aaliyah sampled instrumental. Not to mention, NovaBigSteppa effortlessly captures her emotions through a melodic delivery and clever punchlines.
In the first verse, the elite wordsmith lets it known that no one else has her attention. In actuality, she’s in awe of her one-in-a-million type lady.
She spits, “Dubbin all ya calls my lil baby, she a keeper.“
Afterward, NovaBigSteppa explains that their love is never-ending. Her Mrs. encompasses the qualities she wants in a partner and then some.
“This that typa shit you gotta pray for this/This that typa love that it ain’t never gon end, yea/You give me a really good feelin’/It’s something I ain’t seen in a minute,” she delivers.
NovaBigSteppa also turns the pursuers away because they aren’t ride-or-dies like her lover.
She says, “I been blocking numbers like a nigga playing center/Wasn’t with me in the Honda/You ain’t getting in the sprinter.”
In the last verse, NovaBigSteppa iterates why she isn’t giving other females the time of day. Sure, they attempt to spit game, but NovaBigSteppa isn’t keeping score.
“Lotta missed calls from Karina and Tia/If she wasn’t with me from the jump I don’t need her,” she raps. “Bunch of bandwagon bitches/Tryna come and swipe the visa/Tryna be a city girl but bitch you not Caresha.”
Through it all, NovaBigSteppa vows to remain true to the woman she’d spend forever and a day with.
