Oren Major | ATL’s Golden Boy Has The Blueprint, New Album ‘Stay Down’
Oren Major is a hip hop artist hailing from Atlanta, Georgia which comes at no surprise as ATL has been a hot bed for successful hip hop talent as of late. He defines self-sufficiency in the truest sense and embodies the persona of an artist who gets it done independently. Him and his manager Nick Jorgenson have recently accumulated over $20,000 off of music streaming alone, and boast a handsome 100,000 monthly listeners on Spotify with an even more cult like growing fan base on instagram as well. These are the definition of hustlers. They didn’t sign to a label, so they started their own, DONxJMG. They didn’t feel like paying $100 an hour to record their music, so they created their own in house studio. They actually advertise their studio as a ‘Rap Air BNB’ called Rap House, where artists can book the space for days and record their own tracks. Take notes, this artist and manager combination have a lot of good fortune in store, and have now created multiple ways of passive income solely based on their music. To top off the genius blueprint they have created to make the music work for them, the music that Oren Major releases gets the numbers for a reason. He has pure talent.
What separates Oren Major from the rest of the pack is his immaculate ability to spit bars and add pungent lyricism within the delivery. With his undoubtedly most popular track, ‘Spice’ he tastefully flexes on the world and boasts a confidence that seems to disarm his haters. His conscious flow on the track displays a certain awareness, one that acknowledges haters trying to steal his swag, while at the same time indulging in the fact that he is popping enough to possess the swag that people strive for. The ominous synths that loom throughout the production on this joint, in combination with minimal hi-hats sprinkled in at certain pockets, add to the gangster of this track. It’s a no brainer why this track accumulated over 1.4 million plays.
Got these haters tryna stop my spice’
In addition to the successful singles that Oren Major dropped, he recently just dropped a 16 track album with minimal features titled, ‘Stay Down‘ that is making its rounds all over streaming platforms as well. Our personal favorite off the project is ‘Supergirl ‘. The bouncy flow mixed with the upbeat production is a refreshing taste of the diversity that the ATL rapper show cases. He is adept at weaving through vibes, and conceiving new ones with every track released. ‘One Thing ‘ is a 180 vibe from the previous track, one that possess lyrical finesse and challenges the societal criticism that burdens the rapper. The track demands attention and empathy, as he makes it easy for the listener to be taken for a ride through the artists psyche.
Oren Major simply doesn’t need your support, he clearly has the game figured out on his own, but you can do yourself a big favor and follow along. His head surely is in the right place and the rapper just straight up ooze’s talent. If you are a fan of authentic rap music, and strong melodic tracks, you will not be disappointed. Be sure to stream the artists brand new album, ‘Stay Down‘ on all major streaming platforms.
