Poshtherapper | ‘A Dip Into Reality’, Album Review
Poshtherapper’s newest studio project titled, ‘A Dip Into Reality,’ is easily his best work to date, and we at Rap Fiesta believe it could be the project that helps him break out. With the world in absolute mayhem, Posh is here to give us the cold hard facts throughout the consciously aware project. As Hip Hop has evolved, there has become a lack of conscious rappers in the game. But Posh is here to remind everyone that speaking on real social issues is not only important, but can sound incredible as well.
Originally from Passiac, New Jersey, Posh and his family have had to deal with tremendous hardship after a bank foreclosed their house. Although, their property had been passed down from his grandmother due to a problem with the will. It is stories such as these in which Posh willingly pours his heart out, and shares personal, real life experiences throughout the duration of the extensive 18-track, ‘A Dip Into Reality.’ The emcee manages to discuss societal, political and economical issues throughout the project as well.
‘NJ corrupt, they get the money before you get yours’
It is important to note that the album is segmented into three different Sides: Side A, Side B, and Side C; all of which are divided by individual interludes. Although there are several standout tracks such as the title track, ‘A Dip Into Reality,’ ‘Take That (feat. Nac),’ and, ‘Fed Up,’ we at Rap Fiesta found Side B to contain the heart of the album. Drawing comparisons to legendary Hip Hop artists such as Pusha T, 50 Cent, and more, Posh seamlessly navigates throughout each track on the project.
Although Posh is talented in his both his delivery and wordplay, he certainly knows how to build a strong production team. The producers on the project include Kid Ocean, Treetime, Be Franky, and Brokebwoy. From sampled, classic Hip Hop themed production in tracks such as, ‘A Dip Into Reality,’ to current flute-infused trap beats on tracks such as, ‘Clean,’ Posh elegantly displays his versatility as both a rapper and writer. Side note, Posh mixed and mastered the project in its entirety. Yes, he can engineer too.
With several visuals in the works, Posh has the intentions of touring in the near future. The man has big plans, and it is evident based on his music that he will not rest until his plans come into fruition.
