When creating “Eyes Wide Shut,” PRIZM was inspired by a feeling most people don’t draw too much attention to. That said, the creative wanted to put a voice to the “villains” in everyday life. The rapper describes that people often don’t think about things from the villains’ perspective. So, with “Eyes Wide Shut,” PRIZM wanted to give people a chance to put themselves in someone else’s shoes.
I wanted to be the voice for those who are in pursuit of lust rather than love and happened to accidentally live the life of an antagonist, PRIZM.
PRIZM’s recently dropped music video for “Tendencies” speaks volumes about the artistic reach the singer has. From start to finish, this visual is sure to engage all your senses. The euphoric, slightly psychedelic feel of the music video matches all the movements “Tendencies” embodies.
Giving off a similar feel as some of The Weeknd‘s early work, PRIZM entrances you with haunting audio layered over equally evocative vocals. Further, the number of layers PRIZM works into “Tendencies” make for an audio sensation you simply have to experience to fully understand. To make the track mesmerize you even more, PRIZM brings life to his lyrics with the “Tendencies” music video.
So far, the most popular track on “Eyes Wide Shut” is “Complex,” and rightfully so. The four-minute song eases you into what’s about to alter your mind with a lowkey yet dark rhythm. After about a minute, PRIZM powers through the speakers with layered vocals that add a coating of haunting energy to the track.
PRIZM’s euphoric flow not only catches your attention but makes you forget about anything else that was previously on your mind. “Complex” incorporates layers upon layers of atmospheric elements, making for a powerfully textured song.
