RETROi$AWESOME is back with another banger titled “UP!” Not too long ago, the New Jersey emcee dropped a stellar freestyle titled “From The Ground Up” as well.
Over the K3YFLO beat, Retroi$AWESOME delivers straightforward bars about people who only stick around for the come up but refuse to support or lend out a hand when it’s needed the most.
“Benefit from everything but ghost when you got nothing/ They be posing, they be fronting like the rolled with you a 100/ And they holding you to change like you owe them n*ggas something/ Man the nerve of these n*ggas like they wrote for me or something/ Like they made the plug connections/ Like they sold for me or something/ Like they been through what I been through/ Like they know a n* gga’s story,” he delivers.
Additionally, RETROi$AWESOME speaks on pushing through, even when it gets tough sometimes. He delivers, “I got different ways to get it cause it won’t always be sunny.” As the song carries on, he opens up about obstacles he eventually hurdled over. Retroi$AWESOME continues by saying that he’s thankful for the lessons because it came out as lessons. The emerging rapper also gives his thanks to the one above.
“Up!” is the first single released from “AWESOME The Movie” which will hit streaming platforms in early 2021. The music video was recently released, where the first scene takes place in an abandoned warehouse. Retroi$AWESOME is seen blowing smoke towards the sky, symbolizing he’s about to drop fire bars. He kept it simple with clips from him rocking the stage during his performances accompanied by him being in the booth.
