Sleazus Bhrist | ‘Son Of God’
Sleazus Bhrist gives listeners a clear view of his life and mentality in Son Of God. The newest project, ridden with somber trap beats, carries transparent lyrics about getting it out the mud, his undying hustle, street culture, and painful events that forever changed his view on life. Also, Sleazus Bhrist puts the hater’s vile comments to rest. He often calls out others who switched up and those who attempt to make amends because of his newfound success. Like he spits in “Brush Em”
“I can’t get back them years that was taken away, and somehow I’m still making a way.“
The project only carries features from Melvoni and Stunna Gambino. The production is conducted by Internet Money.
Son of God is Sleazus’ first project since the March 2020 release of his acclaimed Passion of the Bhrist project, which featured the fan-favorite single “Secrets” as well as his depiction of life after prison; with his single “Lessons.“
One standout project on the record is “Who Are You” feat. Melvoni. Bhrist recently accompanied the song with a cinematic visual, which finds the duo flaunting their indestructible weapons. The theme of “Who Are You” looks at trusting certain people and wondering if they are worthy of being seen in that light.
Over the somber trap offering, which eventually becomes upbeat, Bhrist speaks about others who pushed him to grind, saying, “Had a dream like Martin/They told me to get a job.” After, the Harlem-based rapper says how others will never catch him slipping because he’s always on go. Following this, he gives cred to his affiliation for keeping him safe.
He raps, “All my brothers in the field/ I be movin’ with the mob.” Bhrist’s number one goal is to protect his loved ones. We learn that Bhrist is wary of trusting others when he spits, “I can’t trust a soul, I only trust in my machine.”
In the second verse, the rapper reflects on a time where a close friend decided to treat him differently. In turn, he decided to become untouchable. Haters can talk all they want, but it won’t hinder his progress.
He drops, “They stopped showing love, so I replace that sh*t with fear/Opps say they gon’ try it, and I don’t care, I double dare.”
Others are aware of his fortune and have the nerve to ask for some. But, Bhrist lets it known he’s not giving out a single penny. The only people he’s giving some dollars to are those who’ve been there since day one.
Bhrist also drops an inspiring line that goes
“When you creatin’ a lane/You can’t kill what’s ahead.“
His feature, Melvoni, mirrors the same beliefs. He calls out the opps who act like they have money, yet in reality, struggle to get by. The rapper keeps others wondering about his identity as he works behind the scenes and creates hits.
