The Kid Lvndr | “Seasons,” A Personal Transformation
Rap Fiesta’s platform is shaking things up a bit thanks to our latest featured artist, The Kid Lvndr, and his newest album, “Seasons”. The eight-track project is an eclectic collection of songs that depict the artist’s personal transformation. Saying “Seasons” is a creative masterwork is an understatement.
The variety of rhythms, musical styles, and flows The Kid Lvndr incorporates into “Seasons” is nothing short of impressive. Not only that, but the diversity of musical styles leaves you on the edge of your seat, unsure what genre is going to float through the speakers next.
Coming out of Rochester, New York, The Kid Lvndr started making music professionally in 2017. Making music has been a transformative process for the artist. After a few years making music, The Kid Lvndr admits he got lost trying to fit into a box and mimic industry standards.
However, the artist was able to find himself again. Now, The Kid Lvndr makes music that embodies what he’s feeling. And for the rapper, that’s allowed him to heal from deep trauma and express his true self. As you listen to “Seasons,” The Kid Lvndr’s unapologetic expression is palpable; you can feel the artist is showing you the deepest parts of his soul.
It felt like everything had a cycle. Everything had seasons. And I was so very inspired and moved by that, The Kid Lvndr.
The Kid Lvndr’s latest project was “heavily inspired” by the perception he gained while being sober. After escaping a toxic cycle filled with substance abuse, the artist observed how everything in life, from nature to people, goes through cycles or seasons.
The Kid Lvndr was enlightened by the beauty you can observe in seasons, as well as the juxtapositions that naturally occur in life to create beauty. “Seasons” guides you through a natural cycle, starting in spring and ending in winter.
The Kid Lvndr dedicates two songs to each season. The spring-themed tracks express transformation and address the fact that beauty arises from the storm. The summer-themed songs carry an easy-going feel that you naturally associate with warm weather. The Kid Lvndr’s ability to match musical elements and his lyrics to the natural feel each season carries is incredible.
Our favorite song off the album is an autumn-themed track entitled “The Leaves.” The beat instantly reels you in, carrying a similar bass guitar feel presented by The Tame Impalas in “The Less I Know The Better.” The song observes The Kid Lvndr addressing the fact that he can feel himself changing with the leaves in the best way possible.
The song resonates deeply if you’ve ever gone through a dark time mentally and were able to pull yourself and change for the better. And if you’re currently struggling, this song is one that’ll inspire you that positive change is possible.
The Kid Lvndr and his producer, Tobias Long, created something special when they crafted “Seasons.” From start to finish, the project is genuine, resonating, and all around, a creative masterpiece.
I’ll continue to love and cherish the work and art that went into ‘Seasons’ forever though, The Kid Lvndr.
Give The Kid Lvndr a follow on Instagram if you find yourself vibing to his latest album. The ever-evolving artist has several projects in the works that you don’t wanna miss out on. As conceptual as “Seasons” is, The Kid Lvndr envisions his next project as something less abstract. In addition to an upcoming full-length project, you can expect another The Kid Lvndr/Tobias Long collaboration.
