“the” Pluto ft. Lashon Deneen | “Don’t You Know Me?”
“the” Pluto‘s “Don’t You Know Me?” carries a beat that resonates with Tyler The Creator‘s Goblin days. Over eerie-like synths, a thumping 808 and xylophone riffs, Pluto addresses smack-talkers who, all of a sudden, become fans of his music. Likewise, these opps try to garner clout off Pluto’s success. But the rapper is far from naive. In short, Pluto “doesn’t even drive, but the truck can unclip.” Once they realized that Pluto has the gift of gab, they decided to ride the bandwagon. Despite the fake love, Pluto does just fine. All he’s concerned about is the funds that are owed to him. Aside from this, Pluto unveils witty punchlines and metaphors. One notable punchline comes from the song’s chorus, where he says, “We done this two (to) them four times like we Kobe.”
His feature, Lashon Deneen goes to say that she’s “Mr. Krabs with the money bag,” before getting into how she loves the finer things in life.
Additionally, Deneen raps about how she’s not looking to be a role model. Instead, the femcee would like to collect the Benjamins and stay true to who she is. Elsewhere, Deneen acknowledges that black women are forever winning, so don’t try stepping up to her. Let’s just say, if one oversteps, she’ll remind them why they shouldn’t have.
