Tr4gic | Party ft. Afterthought, Mellow Piff
Man, anyone who knows Rap Fiesta knows how much we love NY artists. Brooklyn, born and bred rapper Tr4gic is fresh on the scene with his latest single ‘Party’. With sweet assists from Afterthought, & Mellow Piff- the record is a serious slapper. They’re bringing back the old school, contagious and much needed New York party tracks. Absolutely a song you’ll need to tune into, and if you ever get the AUX- you won’t hesitate to put your friends on to this one.
The production of this from Narayana is absolutely delectable. The west coast wonk bleeds through the swizzling lead melody. The world needs more Bay Area producers like him. With a bop for a beat and Tr4gic’s knack for insanely catchy choruses, ‘Party’ was born. The chorus will absolutely hook you in and turn you to a fan. Already sitting humbly at 46k streams on Spotify, and with more room to grow- we are catching this song in the early stages of its blow-up.
The vibe that the song was created on is even more lit than the song is. We asked the BK artist were the inspiration for such a vibrant track came from, and he told Rap Fiesta,
I had just got to my brother Aft’s crib and there was this sick aura in the air… I brought my homie Peter Kim, a really talented singer, and we were there with like over 10 creatives total. The vibes were so dope, we were smoking up and sipping on some Henny…Aft was running through some beats. After about 2 or 3, he got to the Party beat- at that point, there was no turning back… The hook played through my head and immediately I recited it out loud (Show out baby we like to Party… ). From that moment on, we had a sick party song on our hands. My brother Mellow wrote a 4 bar post hook to what I had, and it was the charisma we needed going into every verse. It was the perfect song going into summer and getting done with all the college work, and you already know us students like like to party.
I get asked this a lot because I have a surprisingly good response when people hear “Tr4gic”. What inspired my name the most is the state of the world we live in- it really is one big tragedy. Theres a lot of darkness in this world, and through my music I’m able to channel and/or filter out most of the evil and just zone in to create. Also, 4 has always been a very orderly and significant number to me considering I have 4 brothers, the 4 years we have in high school and college, one of my favorite books has the 4 agreements of life, I could pretty much go on and on but 4 is special- and also super easy for people to find me on streaming services.
A super-smart artist in creating a stage name that is easily found on streaming services and around the web, in the age of digital streaming having this type of mindset will open doors. Tying in the world’s struggles and embodying the word tragic to give it new meaning is admirable as well. Tr4gic is undoubtedly talented, but he is wise in branding his moves too.
With ‘Party’ to lead the way, Tr4gic has a load of visuals, projects, and shows in the works once the pandemic comes to an end. Be on the lookout for ‘Tragedy the Tape 2’ and a collaborative group project with ‘Family Mtrs’ to be dropping at the end of 2020 or early 20201. ‘Party’ is the first official drop from the group and from the way things look, ‘Family Mtrs’ will be a household name in the near future making noise.
