We found WaffleJax in the depths of Soundcloud, deeply hidden in the burrow of underground rappers. His track ‘Smooth Like Some Gravy‘ is literally packed with so many bars that I had to actually pause it multiple times to dissect it. “Grew so much courage in my system, no I’m not a coward” displays the crazy double meaning WaffleJax keeps in his bag. That whole Courage the Cowardly Dog bar is a whole OG Cartoon Network vibe in and of itself. He spits that with such energy that you can’t help but feel it. His demeanor on the track is so controlled, and unhinged at the same time its mind boggling. He’s spitting scungy bars over a sunny piano beat that is so peaceful and calm, but does it in a way to make you jump out your seat. He is truly one of Soundcloud’s hidden gems.
