Whipalo | Videographer of the Future
I have said this time and time again, mostly when I was writing for Lyrical Lemonade, but I believe that some of the grittiest, hardest working individuals within the music industry come from the East Coast. More specifically, the city that never sleeps, New York City.
The videographer of the future, known as Whipalo, hails from Brooklyn and grew up spending his time in the Bay Ridge and Sunset Park regions of the city. From a young age, Whipalo has seen the world from a different angle than his peers and the creatives he was surrounded by.
With extremely humble beginnings, Whipalo was working several jobs, and shooting music videos for basically anyone in NYC that needed to have one done. Spreading his name throughout the city, I discovered Whipalo when I wrote up Danny Singh for his single titled, ‘Call Me,’ and saw the incredibly captivating music video directed by… that’s right, you guessed it, Whipalo.
Fast forward a couple of months and Whipalo is filming parts of OVO fest and currently touring with the all time great we all know as Rick Ross. Prior to what people think, the 20 year old phenom is not an, ‘overnight success,’ and has been on his grind for years.
With high expectations of what he can become, the young visionary is influenced and shows respect to the greats that have paved the way and shown him how to navigate in a very unforgiving industry.
In short, Whipalo is far from content, which is why his story is only beginning to unfold.
