YUN$KRIII aka Sean Michaeli is back with an action-packed 4 track EP titled, “THE CYCLE“. The Bronx, NY multi-genre artist is entering the scene with a chip on his shoulder, delivering delectable sounds that cover a wide array of profound topics including societal trends, environmental stances & more niche areas. The type of commitment YUN$KRIII depicts on the EP is one of sure delight. You won’t want to miss the chance to bless your ears with these sonics.
Right from the beginning, YUN$KRIII delivers an encapsulating rich sound on “FLOWER$ PT.I “. The hook on this joint is exceptional. You’ll undoubtedly think there are 4 artists present on the record, but it’s only YUN$KRIII on each component. He’s truly adept at committing to radical flows & switching his styles effortlessly. The same way an actor gives his effort into playing multiple roles is a similar comparison as to how YUN$KRIII approaches his EP on “The Cycle”.
The beat on “FLOWER$ PT.II ” simply goes crazy. The euphoric & Lo-Fi feel of production intertwined with YUN$KRIII’s pitched-down vocal to start puts you into a different zone. It would be a shame to box YUN$KRIII as just a rapper because he delivers way more than advertised. You won’t be disappointed in the slightest from bumping this project, as there are many vibes for those of any demographic to enjoy.
From YUN$KRIII’s ability to create submerging vocal tones & skill in switching from melodic rap to bar-spitting frenzies, you’ll find that the issues he touches on in his lyrics will provide just as much entertainment. Check out what YUN$KRIII had to say when describing the “THE CYCLE“.
On June 20th (The Summer Solstice) I released a pack called THE CYCLE. This pack contains 4 songs FLOWER$ PT. I, FLOWER$ PT. II, FLOWER$ PT. III & CHERRYBLOS$OM. THE CYCLE is a lucid 4-part complete piece that stands as a portrayal of the concepts – Light, Love & Ecstasy: depicted through seasonal change and progression. The inspiration for this project was in efforts to heal and provide subconscious direction for the listener, providing a meaningful message that touches upon social issues, climate change, relationships, cultural tension, love, perseverance and the reactions, push and pull. – YUN$KRIII
Really, it sounds very much Tyler, The Creator inspired. With every track sounding incredibly different but cohesive, YUN$KRIII is arriving at a sound not many have experimented with. His creativity is out of the box, but combine that with his vision to execute his thoughts into solidified bangers & nourish a wide-ranging musical palate and you have a great artist. That’s the depth of YUN$KRIII’s artistry.
YUN$KRIII collaborated with producer and mix engineer JAB and co-producer Gil Dubin who played major parts of the sound you hear on “THE CYCLE“. While YUN$KRIII has been experimenting with music creation from a young age, he’s been successfully cultivating his sound throughout a multiplicity of experiences. He goes into those influential experiences below,
Originally I started writing and free-styling at the age of 15, becoming fully immersed in rapping, singing and production by the age of 17. Creativity was always a vehicle for my own expression, from a very young age I began to see art in everything and found beauty in all things.
When I was young I was very intrigued with the visual arts but eventually began shifting through various forms of art, where I found love in creative writing. In my teenage years, I discovered a love for rap and music, taking on recording and production relatively quickly. I was always artistically driven finding the outlet of creation as a direct path to both give and with music speak from the heart and mind. The ability, love and knack for rap/hip-hop, singing and free-styling came relatively seamlessly, especially after being inspired as a child by various Artists, Rappers and MC’s such as: Tupac, 50 Cent, Nirvana, Nas, Queen, Mobb Deep, NWA, Led Zeppelin, Biggie, HOV, Wutang Clan, Dr. Dre, Lil Wayne, Drake, Kid Cudi, The Game, Chief Keef and Kanye West amongst others… I loved the way they spoke through music. When reaching my teenage years I had become significantly attuned to the studying of the art form where I began developing a deeper ear for the music, through the message of Pac and Cudi, the mixture/ diversity of Drake and Kanye, the Modern Raw New York Sound of Pro Era and A$AP Mob, the lyricism and word play of [Lil Wayne, Kendrick Lamar & J.Cole], seeing and creating music as an experience from Travis Scott, Childish Gambino and Mac Miller alongside the perfectionism and craftsmanship of the art I learned from the works of Frank Ocean. Alongside all of these incredible artists my biggest influences came from when I was trying to make it out of dark place which I had been able to do as a result of the music and work of XXXTENTACION & Lil Peep which became the point I decided to fully pursue music especially when they passed away I saw people who knew them personally struggle and many people lost. My mission became the creation of music to provide direction, clarity, understanding and sanctity for all people whether they are lost, searching or found.
As YUN$KRIII plans to continue his journey, we’re happy to report he’s not stopping any time soon. He has very powerful music on the way and plans to release a few singles before releasing another EP, and then transitioning into an album. Although his latest EP was more focused on softer, healing sounds- he’s following that up with a dynamic & higher-energy punch on the next drops.
