Zoot | “balance”, An Alluring EP With Ominous Undertones
Rap Fiesta is excited to welcome back Zoot and his latest project, “balance.” The seven-track spell-binding EP features an array of dark themes, reverberating vocals, and genuine lyrics in Zoot’s signature style. In fact, “balance” is so mesmerizing it’s likely you’ll find yourself replaying the EP or one specific track a couple of times in a row.
If you haven’t heard of Zoot yet, it’s time to put the rapper on your radar. Currently residing in the hip-hop melting pot of Atlanta, Zoot brings something unique to the table with his distinct sound and signature resonating delivery. That said, from top to bottom, Zoot’s new project “balance” doesn’t miss.
Adding a mysterious element to the project, Zoot delivers a bop with “evolution.” The song incorporates a beat with a haunting dark energy that you’ll immediately become addicted to. On top of that, Zoot spits heat in a popping flow that pours through the speakers so smoothly. Although the song feels dark, “evolution” is undoubtedly a track that’ll pump you up.
Another track that stood out to us at Rap Fiesta is “move on.” From the jump, the rhythm will entrance you in a wavy energy filled to the brim with texture. Like Zoot’s other songs, the beat featured in “move on” carries an ominous feel similar to trap and emo rap. However, unlike what the beat portrays, “move on” is all about Zoot recognizing what things and people he needs to avoid to continue growing.
Although we only referenced a couple of tracks off “balance,” the entire project is a must-listen. Zoot’s ability to add several moving parts into each song is truly incredible. By doing so, the artist gives each piece an intense amount of texture that captures all of your attention right away. Also, Zoot’s vocal layering is probably one of the most hypnotizing aspects of his music. Again, adding an increased amount of texture allows Zoot’s lyrics to hit the deepest parts of your core.
Overall, the beats featured throughout “balance” all portray similar emotions, but that doesn’t mean each song sounds the same. However, each rhythm on “balance” carries sinister, somber, melancholic feelings that force you to pay attention. So, if emo rap is your go-to, Zoot’s “balance” is for you. Still, even if you usually don’t like rap with a slower, darker feel, it’s worth giving Zoot a try because the way he delivers his vocals is unlike anything you’ve heard before.
After listening to “balance,” don’t be surprised if you find a new favorite rapper. Zoot has an uncanny ability to connect to a broad audience from different backgrounds and musical tastes, further solidifying why he’s already achieved such great success in the music game. Still, make sure you follow Zoot on Instagram to know when his latest projects drop!
But right now, take a few moments to get away from the world and let Zoot take you into an alluring vibe with “balance.”
